TMSG: Formerly Homeless Teen Is Going To College

A formerly homeless New Jersey teen is seeing his dreams come true; he is going to college!

Dylan Chidick, 17, had applied to 18 schools last August with The College of New Jersey being his target school. Chidick was just recently personally presented with an acceptance letter to The College of New Jersey, and all 17 other schools sent in their acceptances as well.

Over the years, Chidick and his mother along with his two younger siblings have fought through homelessness and illness. With expensive medical bills to get treatment for Chidicks younger twin brothers who both have a heart condition, and his mother unable to work during that time due to taking care of her sons, the family became homeless and had to live in a shelter.

With the help of Village of Families, Dylan and his family were able to find housing where he could apply for college to change his future. He says he plans to commit next months and is very excited to attend a school that will set him up for success!
