LeAnn Rimes rescheduled two upcoming performances as she recovers from a “severe illness.”
The Grammy-winning artist, 43, shared in a statement on her Instagram story on Wednesday (April 29): “Due to severe illness, I am unable to travel & perform this week. I’m sorry to share that the upcoming shows in Spokane and Seattle will be rescheduled. Also, good news as we will be seeing you very soon! …I am truly heartbroken to have to reschedule and I am so very grateful for your kindness and continued support as I recover. I look forward to bring back on stage and seeing you very soon. Love, LeAnn.”
Rimes’ performances in Spokane, and Seattle, Washington — originally scheduled for Thursday (April 30) and Friday (May 1), respectively — are part of the country star’s “30 Years of Blue Tour.” Now, Rimes will perform on Spokane on May 31, and in Seattle on June 2. Tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled dates, and refunds will be available via the original point of purchase if ticket holders can no longer attend, she stated. Ticket holders will receive a notification of the change directly.
Rimes was 13 years old when she released the iconic Blue album in July 1996, and she’d turned 14 by the time she won a Grammy in 1997. She made history as the youngest individual winner when she took home Best New Artist and Best Female Country Vocal Performance. Rimes said when she announced the tour that “it’s gonna be an absolute blast. We’re going to be playing most of the Blue record and also some of my favorite songs throughout my career.” The 9-1-1: Nashville actress previously told Entertainment Tonight of Blue’s 30th anniversary, “I look back at that. It’s so nostalgic. I’ve been fortunate to have, not one song like that, but multiple in my career. And that just — it will never get old. It will never get old.” She added to the entertainment news hub that she would tell her 13-year-old self “so many things. I think the one thing I always go back to is, listen to your inner voice because there’s so many freaking opinions coming at you and you kind of lose track of that along the way. So, always listen to that because it never steers you off.”
