Jana Kramer hosted Ben Hollingsworth on a new episode of Whine Down with Jana Kramer to talk about “what happened behind the scenes” of their soon-to-premiere holiday movie.
Kramer and Hollingsworth star in The Christmas Ring, a film adaptation of the new novel by Karen Kingsbury. The story is about “a military widow (who) falls in love while searching for her lost family Christmas Ring, an heirloom that has been in the family since D-Day,” reads the film’s description on IMDb.
Throughout the conversation, Kramer and Hollingsworth (and Whine Down co-host Kristen Brust) chatted about behind-the-scenes moments from filming the holiday romance, how they got through an emotional scene that they filmed at 4 a.m. (Hollingsworth said he leaned on caffeine to film the “emotional,” “important” moment at an early hour, and praised Kramer’s performance), and more. Hollingsworth also spoke about one of his best-known roles, on Virgin River, and more.
Leading up to The Christmas Ring’s premiere, Kramer opened up about dealing with “self-criticism” and “negative self-talk.” She also hosted Kingsbury on the podcast to talk about the movie, the book, her journey as an author and more. Find the newest episode on iHeartRadio here.
The Christmas Ring premieres in theaters on Thursday (November 6).
