Lainey Wilson âmight have to proposeâ to her boyfriend, former football quarterback Devlin âDuckâ Hodges.
The â4x4xUâ singer-songwriter caught up with Bunnie XO and CMT ahead of her New Yearâs Eve performance in Nashville, Tennessee. Wilson was part of the star-studded lineup during the NEW YEARâS EVE LIVE: NASHVILLEâS BIG BASHÂ on Tuesday evening (December 31). Keith Urban hosted the show with Entertainment Tonight's Rachel Smith. He also headlined the bash, along with Kane Brown and Jelly Roll.
âIâm manifesting for you and Duck to get married,â Bunnie Xo told Wilson after the reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year said she wanted to spend more time with Bunnie and the Beautifully Broken artist. Wilson, 32, looked at the camera and said to Hodges, 28, âno pressure, brother! No pressure. I might have to propose to him. We waitinâ.â
âNo, Duckâs gonna do it. I can feel it.â Bunnie Xo said.
Wilson has been dating Hodges since 2021. The couple made their red carpet debut together at the 2023 ACM Awards at Ford Center at the Star in Frisco, Texas. Wilson said in an interview with PEOPLE months after the red carpet debut that Hodges is âa very lovable person. âŚI was never really able to write love songs, because I don't know if I had actually felt it, but I'm writing me some love songs now. Iâm grateful for him.â
Wilson released a few love songs on Whirlwind, her highly-anticipated followup to Bell Bottom Country, which won the country star her first Grammy Award in 2024. Wilson has shared sweet glimpses of the couple in clips set to â4x4xU,â a ballad she wrote with Jon Decious and Aaron Raitiere. â4x4xUâ appears on Wilsonâs 14-track album, along with âCountryâs Cool Again,â âGood Horsesâ with Miranda Lambert, âWhirlwind,â âHang Tight Honeyâ and more. Hodges recently shared one of Wilsonâs posts on his Instagram story that captured the âlast rodeo for the year.â He added to Wilson: âProud of you. Love you.â
