Jake Flint's Funeral Plans Announced After The Singer Died Unexpectedly

Jake Flint’s family has reportedly confirmed the late Red Dirt country singer-songwriter’s funeral arrangements, days after he died unexpectedly. He was 37.

Flint, of Oklahoma, died in his sleep hours after his wedding. His wife, Brenda Flint, wrote in a heartbreaking Facebook post: “We should be going through wedding photos but instead I have to pick out clothes to bury my husband in. People aren't meant to feel this much pain. My heart is gone and I just really need him to come back. I can't take much more. I need him here.”

Flint’s funeral services are set for Cedar Point Church, located at 1660 North Lynn Riggs Boulevard in Claremore, on Monday, December 5 at 10 a.m., Tulsa, Oklahoma-based KTUL-TV reports Wednesday (November 30). The ABC affiliate noted that in lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Red Dirt Relief Fund, a nonprofit organization that serves Oklahoma residents who work in the music industry.

A GoFundMe page was created in an effort to support Flint’s wife and family. The fundraiser has reached more than $6,400 of its $10,000 goal as of publication time.

“Our hearts are broken over this tragic loss,” Flint’s family said in a statement. “Jacob was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and partner to his wife, Brenda. He valued his family, friendships, and living life to the fullest, which was evident in his songwriting. Every person who knew him has a story of his wit, charm, talent, and compassion. We are so grateful for the outpouring of support and the many beautiful tributes that have been shared about the impact Jacob had on many lives. While we grieve what we know could have been, we're grateful that his talent and love live on in his songs.”

Flint’s manager, Brenda Cline, also shared an emotional tribute to the late singer-songwriter, saying, in part, that “…I loved him much like a son. The funniest, most hilarious, hardest working, dedicated artist I have ever worked with in my career. …This is going to be incredibly difficult for so many. We love you Jake and in our hearts forever.”
